Volunteer Opportunities – Summer 2026

 

Moira Lake Stewardship Projects and Social Events

​

MLPOA is offering several ways to get involved in protecting and improving Moira Lake and/or promoting the community this summer. Whether you have a few hours or want to help with a one-day project, there’s a role to match your availability. At this point we are only looking for expressions of interest, not firm commitments.

​

No prior experience is required. Training and support are provided (see below).

​

Key Things to Know

  • You choose how much time you give

  • Extra volunteers reduce individual workload

  • No special expertise required

  • Most roles fit around normal lake use

  • You can volunteer for one role or several

Training & Support for Environmental Stewardship Projects

  • One short combined training session for most roles

    • How projects fit together

    • The battle against invasive species

      • The journey

      • Aquatic vegetation invasive species identification

      • Survey123 use

      • Ground-truthing

  • Safety and biosecurity
