Event Logistics & What You Need to Know
We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone to the 2026 Moira Lake BBQ & Regatta.
This page outlines the key logistics and other important information to help make the day run smoothly.

Please Note: This is a flexible, participation-driven event. The schedule is intended as a guide and may shift based on participation levels, weather, and event flow.
Parking & Arrival

Parking will be available onsite at Camp Quin-Mo-Lac.

Please follow volunteer directions and event signage upon arrival. The camp operates a one-way road system during the event to help maintain traffic flow and pedestrian safety.

All guests are asked to:

Mobility-challenged guests will be directed to the closest parking area where possible.
Registration

Registration is required for all attendees, including participants, spectators, volunteers, and performers.

At Registration:
-
One adult may sign the required waiver on behalf of their group/family
-
Guests can sign up for activities and races
-
Kids (12 and under) will receive giveaways while supplies last

Site Rules

To help ensure a safe and enjoyable event for everyone:

Adults are responsible for their children
-
No Smoking / Vaping
-
No alcohol or drugs
-
No pets
-
Life jackets MUST be worn by all persons (adults & kids) entering the fenced beach area
-
Lifeguards have final say in beach area
-
The craft table and lawn games are not staffed – parental supervision is required
-
Venue is to be left in the same condition as we receive it
-
Listen and follow the instructions of volunteers
-
Volunteers are identifiable by their yellow vests
-

What to Bring
-
We strongly recommend guests bring:
-
Lawn chairs and pop-up sun shades. Seating and shade are limited.

Lifejackets for water activities (MANDATORY)
-
Sunscreen
-
Water bottles and extra soft drinks
-
Hats / sun protection
-
Towels and change of clothes for those participating in water events
-
If you have food allergies or specific dietary restrictions, please bring your own food to enjoy during the BBQ lunch

Activities/races are fun-focused rather than competitive
-
All participants entering the fenced swimming/water area MUST wear a lifejacket.

Certified lifeguards will be on duty throughout water activities and have final authority regarding water safety.

These activities are intended to be casual and self-directed.

Canoes & Kayaks

We have 8 canoes available for loan

We have 6 basic kayaks available for loan

Although you are welcome to bring your own, there is no requirement to do so

You may wish to bring your own paddles for both canoes and kayaks.

BBQ & Music

Following the awards ceremony, guests are invited to stay for a free BBQ lunch and live music.

Planned menu includes:

Hamburgers

Hot Dogs

Chips

Cookies

Bottled Water

You may also bring your own soft drinks.​

Recorded music will play all day prior to live band entertainment
-
The band 6 Degrees will perform following the awards ceremony
Washroom Facilities

Portable washrooms will be located near the main event area.
-
Additional full washroom facilities (suitable as change-rooms) are available a 5 - 7 minute walk from the beach and event area.

Boat Access
​

Docking facilities are very limited.
-
Access by boat is limited to only those vessels that can be pulled-up onshore
-
Larger vessels will be able to unload passengers, but not remain moored to the dock

We do not encourage bringing larger boats

Weather

The event will proceed unless severe weather conditions require cancellation.

In the event of unexpected inclement weather shelter is available
