The Municipality of Centre Hastings together with private investors in Tweed have purchased a weed harvester which will be used to clear weeds from Deer Creek, Reynolds Landing, Kiwanis Beach, the River Outlet, the Narrows between bridges and the culvert connecting the two lakes. This will be done at no cost to local residents.
The Municipality’s weed harvester will be available to clear weeds along private shorelines from mid July. The cost is $120.00 per cut to a permitted maximum of 100 square meters (10m x 10m). The cost includes weed disposal. This service is available to current, paid-up MLPOA members (2007/2008 year) only, it is not available to expired or non-members.
Payment must be made by July 1st!

Also, it is very important that you physically identify the property/area you wish harvested, showing your Lane Name and 911 # visible from Lakeside, to allow the harvester operator access to the correct location. If they can't find your property, they may end up cutting weeds in front of your neighbour's, at your expense! This can be accomplished with either a permanent or temporary sign directing the operator to the area you wish harvested. Signs should be up by July 15th at the latest to avoid any confusion.
