Changes for Garbage Disposal - June 1st, 2008
Effective June 1st, 2008, all household garbage must be placed into clear plastic bags for disposal in the communal garbage bins. Any garbage left in green, white, black or other opaque bags will not be removed, and must be taken to the landfill site at the expense of the property owners.
Clear bags will allow the municipality to determine if households are still disposing of recyclable goods in with garbage instead of in the blue bins. By reducing the amount of household garbage that must be sent to the local landfill, the hope is that the municipality can extend the life of the existing landfill site, and keep overall disposal costs as low as possible.
Please do your part and separate your garbage, and use clear plastic bags. Your Zone Rep has two free bags for each current MLPOA member, courtesy of the MLPOA, and you can purchase additional bags in town.
